Apple is preparing to roll out its revamped Siri around March next year, marking one of the company’s most significant updates to its voice assistant in years. The launch is expected to coincide with the debut of a new smart home display, available in both speaker-base and wall-mounted designs. In addition, refreshed versions of Apple TV and the HomePod mini are planned to showcase the next generation of Siri and Apple Intelligence features.
According to reports, the upcoming version of Siri will rely on Google’s Gemini technology and introduce an AI-powered web search feature. However, analyst Mark Gurman cautioned that there is no guarantee users will immediately embrace the new system or that it will fully repair Siri’s long-standing reputation issues.
Apple is reportedly paying Google to develop a custom Gemini-based model designed to run on Apple’s secure Private Cloud Compute servers. This setup ensures Siri doesn’t incorporate Google services or directly use Gemini features. Instead, the AI model will operate behind the scenes, enhancing Siri’s ability to respond naturally and intelligently while maintaining Apple’s signature interface and user privacy standards.
At its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, Apple will preview iOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and other upcoming software updates. These releases are expected to spotlight major advancements in Apple Intelligence and the company’s broader artificial intelligence vision.
Meanwhile, Apple continues to face hurdles bringing Apple Intelligence to China. Despite collaborations with local partners, the rollout remains delayed due to ongoing regulatory challenges, leaving launch plans in the region uncertain.
