YouTube’s Search Filters Broken on Web Version, Bug Reported by Multiple Users

YouTube is no stranger to quirky bugs and UI hiccups, and today is no exception. A strange issue is affecting the web version of the platform, specifically the search filters that help users refine video search results by upload date, video type, duration, features, and sorting options. Unfortunately, these filters are currently broken for many users, including ourselves.

Several reports have surfaced on Reddit, with many users confirming the problem (via Android Authority). Upon testing the issue personally, the search filters on the YouTube website are completely grayed out and unclickable.

This bug appears to be recent, with the earliest reports emerging about 11 hours ago, and so far, there is no clear explanation for its cause. To check if you’re affected, simply visit www.YouTube.com, perform any search, and click on the ‘Filters’ button located at the top right of the search results page.

Normally, clicking ‘Filters’ reveals all available filter options as active, clickable buttons. Currently, however, all filters except for the default ‘Relevance’ under the ‘Sort by’ section appear as grayed-out, unselectable options.

Mobile App Users Not Affected

Interestingly, this glitch seems confined to the desktop web version. The search filters remain fully functional on YouTube’s Android and iOS apps. However, if you access YouTube via a mobile web browser, the bug does appear, mirroring the desktop experience.

Attempts to Troubleshoot Failed

The problem is consistent across multiple browsers, different YouTube accounts (both Premium and non-Premium), with ad-blockers on and off, and on both Wi-Fi and mobile data connections. This strongly suggests the bug is server-side or related to the web version itself, rather than something on the user end.
